uneesay account and the data linked to the account can be deleted at any time. Please use whichever of the two methods below is more convenient.
Deleting directly in the app
1. Launch the uneesay app and log in.
2. Open the Profile tab at the bottom.
3. Select Settings → Account → Delete account.
4. Follow the instructions to confirm, and your deletion request will be submitted.
Requesting by email
If you cannot access the app, please send a request from the email address you used to sign up to the address below.
- To: bakgh378@naver.com
- Subject: Account deletion request
- Body: Email address or friend code used for sign-up
After verifying your identity, the request will be processed within 5 business days.
Data that will be deleted
When the account is deleted, the following data will be deleted immediately and cannot be restored.
- Profile information (name, profile photo, languages used, friend code)
- Messages sent and received, and translation results
- Translation history and favorites
- Interpreting session history
- Learning progress, vocabulary lists, and streak history
- Language exchange profile and matching history
- Push notification tokens
- Remaining points
Data that will be retained
The following items, which must be retained by law, will be stored for the legally required period and then automatically destroyed.
- Payment and transaction records: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
- Records of consumer complaints and dispute resolution: 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
- Access logs: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)
These records are stored separately from member identification information and are not used for any other purpose.
Deleting only part of your data without deleting your account
It is also possible to keep your account while deleting only conversation content or translation history.
- Delete conversations: Swipe left on a conversation in the chat list to delete it
- Delete translation history: Profile → Translation history → Trash icon at the top right
- Reset learning history: Profile → Settings → Reset learning data
